"In wine is truth"
This marble slab takes up the expression "In Vino Veritas" which appears in the texts of Pliny the Elder. However, it would have older origins attributed to the Greek poet Alcée. Tacitus, famous Roman historian, tells how the Germans got drunk during their council, thinking that it was under the effect of alcohol that the greatest frankness was expressed!
