Collection hôtel de Caumont centre d'art
The Bruce Museum of Grennwich (Connecticut) and the Hôtel de Caumont Art center coorganized the monographic exhibition on Alfred Sisley (1839-1899). Through this exhibition we discovered dedicated body and soul to the landscape painting. We take pleasure in watching his evolution through the paintings. Bougival, Argenteuil, Moret-sur-Loing, these landscapes are treating from different angles, under changing lights and seasons. Covering the painter's entire career from 1860 to 1890, we discovered his relationship with his impressionnist companions, the inflluence of Japanese prints, photography, dutch paintings, and also Turner and Constable.
For this richely illustrated catalog, some specialists such as Richard Stone, Kathleen Adler and MaryAnne Stevens bring us a new analysis and insights into the work and life of Alfred Sisley.
